Home Run King

Zach had a big baseball weekend. His team was in a tournament in Monroe. He started off the weekend by getting 6 RBI's their first game on Saturday, including a 3 run homer. Then on Sunday morning he hit another homer, this time a grand slam! These were his first over the fence home runs he has hit. He also won the Home Run King trophy they gave out for the most homers by one person in the tournament. Way to go Slugger!

National Junior Honor Society

Congratulations to Cole on his induction to the National Junior Honor Society. They held a ceremony right before school finished up for the year. I meant to get this up sooner, but in switching phones, I forgot about the pictures I had taken.

Family Night at The National Concert

All four of us went to see The National in concert Sunday night as part of the MusicNOW festival here in town. I've been a fan of the band for a while and the kids are starting to get into them. It was at Music Hall, which was a great place for the kids to see a concert, because they had no trouble seeing. It was a fun night and the band was really good.

Congrats to Cole

After the post about Zach's game on Saturday, I would be remiss not to also congratulate Cole and his team on their thrilling triple-OT win on Sunday. In a game that saw them play both great and then not-so-great, they buckled down in the last OT to win an exciting game.

Cole played a very good game defensively, and had a great sequence where he drew a charge against the other team's best scorer and then had great assist at the other end. He did a fantastic job playing down low against some kids a lot bigger than he was.

Nice to win both boys' games this weekend, but let's hope future wins aren't so nerve racking for us spectators.

Congrats to ZachBron

Zach had a whale of a basketball game today.  He scored 25 points, to lead his team to a 31-30 overtime win!  Even Cole was impressed. 

They are 6-1 and tied for first place.  GrandJane picked a good weekend to come watch.

Great Basketball Weekend

Cole and Zach both won their basketball games this weekend. Only the second time so far this year they both came home happy. Zach had a great game on Saturday. He scored 16 of his team's 29 points, and they won by 10. Cole played a good game also, but couldn't get his shots to fall. But his team cruised to a 10 point win also.

3 more games for each of them and then a week of playoff games.
